## Junior Aikido Classes
**A real martial art, a great challenge – and plenty of fun along the way.**
Our Junior Aikido classes give young people the opportunity to learn a traditional Japanese martial art in the welcoming environment of **our own dedicated dojo**.
Aikido training is active, practical and engaging. Juniors learn how to move, fall and roll safely and practise martial techniques including responses to grabs and attacks, throws, controls and pins. As they progress, they develop their technique, timing, coordination and understanding of how Aikido works.
Classes are carefully structured so that young people can **learn progressively and safely while still being challenged**. Training with partners also encourages concentration, cooperation, respect and responsibility for each other.
Aikido offers much more than simply getting children moving. Regular practice can help develop **fitness, balance, coordination, body awareness and confidence**, while learning increasingly challenging techniques gives young people a genuine sense of achievement and progression.
Our dedicated dojo provides a permanent environment for martial arts training and gives juniors the opportunity to feel part of a real martial arts club. Beginners are supported from their very first class, and no previous martial arts experience is needed.
We want young people to **enjoy training, develop genuine martial arts skills and take pride in what they can achieve**.
Whether your child is looking for a new activity, enjoys learning physical skills, needs a fresh challenge or is simply curious about martial arts, Aikido offers something very different to the usual sports and activities.
All instructors are DBS-checked, qualified and insured.
**Beginners are very welcome – come and discover Aikido.**
